Frequently Asked Questions

I have never done therapy or talked to anyone. How does it work?

Therapy is like having a personal GPS for your journey through life. Imagine you're on a road trip, and the therapist is the friendly voice guiding you, helping you navigate the twists and turns, offering alternative routes when there's a roadblock, and cheering you on when you hit a smooth stretch. Therapy helps to define your destination, set goals, and provides the tools and strategies to overcome challenges along the way. It's not about telling you where to go, but rather empowering you to drive confidently and purposefully toward the life you want to live.

I have friends I talk to. Isn’t that good enough?

Having friends can be great. They listen and often offer great advice. The difference between speaking with a professional is confidentiality and a non-objective view. Your friends usually know the people you are discussing and will most likely interact with them again. This can cause awkward situations or make future conversations turn into tense interactions.  A therapist acts like a confidential sounding board, helping you explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals without the worry of it affecting your social dynamics. It's like having a dedicated ally who's there solely for your well-being, offering guidance and strategies to help you navigate life's challenges with clarity and purpose.

How long is the process?

Each client is different. Some clients take more time to assess each individual goal, while others come for two sessions and have a clearer direction on where they wish to go. During the first session we will discuss the longevity and plan our future sessions.

Do I need to come with a long list of things?

This is completely up to you. Some clients come with a list of things they want to prioritize discussing, while others go with the flow and have general conversation. I am here to meet your needs.

Do you accept insurance?

Currently, all services are private pay but within the next 4-6 weeks I will be credentialed with most major insurances. Continue checking the website for the latest updates.
